Another app now reads our live race stats — and this one records the workout too. TrainingRecorder runs on Wear OS watches. It is open source, free, with no ads and no account of its own.
The phone is not needed while you ride: the watch records the track, heart rate, speed, cadence and power from external sensors by itself, and sends the workout to Strava and Garmin Connect when you finish. You build the screen you want — up to ten screens of ten fields for each sport, set up on the phone.
The race part is what our Garmin and Amazfit apps do: in a race timed by our system the screen shows your place overall and within your group, the gaps to the rider ahead, the rider behind and the leader, how those gaps are changing, and laps. You enter the competition id and your bib number on the phone. The data comes from the site's open API — no keys, no authorisation, the same as for our other apps.
The app is young: it is not in Google Play yet, the APKs are in the GitHub releases, and the author is still working on it. Bugs can be reported in issues — at this stage that is the most useful help.
As this is published the current version is 0.9.5, from 16 August 2026. It already records full workouts, uploads them to both services and shows live race stats; what stands between it and 1.0 is what real rides keep turning up. Releases come often, so the releases page is the place to watch.
