Atlas Mountain Race 2027
Atlas Mountain Race is a fixed-route, unsupported, single-stage cycling race across Morocco. Start in Ouzoud, finish in Essaouira. The clock does not stop and there are no prizes.
Distance and profile: 1331 km, 24,688 m of elevation gain. The route follows gravel, single and double track and old colonial pistes; very little tarmac. Expected completion time: approximately 8 days.
Format: solo or pair. Categories: solo, pairs.
Cost: £375 per rider + £50 sponsorship fee (formerly media license) + £50 tracker rental if required (one tracker per pair).
Included: race logistics (registration, 3 staffed checkpoints, control cars, race media, medical car, 24/7 race HQ, dotwatchers team), race manual, race GPX track, GPS tracker rental if required, online tracking via Maprogress, race T-shirt, numbered race cap, bike box transfer to finish, after party, access to all race photography for personal use.
Who can participate: experienced riders with multi-day bikepacking experience, preferably off-road in remote areas. Riders must be self-sufficient in a harsh mountain environment. All participants are selected via application.
Registration: The general application window for 2027 is now closed. Successful applicants will be notified on 24th July. 25% of spaces are reserved for women; women's applications continue until all spaces are filled.
